We are very sorry to share the sad news of the passing of our friend and colleague Warwick Goulding.
Warwick was the manager of the Birmingham City Mission Bookshop for many years, and was a close personal friend and mentor to me when I started in the Christian book trade over 20 years ago. His wit and wisdom will be sorely missed, as well as his balanced and humble attitude.
God used Warwick mightly through all that he did, whether it be preaching, praying for people in the bookshop, or recommending resources to encourage people who came into the shop who may be struggling with some aspect of their faith….Warwick was a source of inspiration and encouragement to many….myself included.
On many occasions, Warwick would join Birmingham City Mission’s Youth and Childrens team, taking part in conferences and events, sometimes dressing up as some character or another to engage those watching with the message being presented, or using puppets to illustrate the Bible story being told.
It would not be unreasonable to say that without Warwick listening to God’s calling to patiently mentor me in Christian bookselling, Mustard Seed Christian Bookshop would not exist today.
Warwick will be sadly missed, but we can take comfort that he is now in the loving arms of the Saviour he loved and served faithfully for many years.
